Mr Cunningham returns to Port Jackson from New Zealand

20th January 1827

On this day 20th January 1827 Allan Cunningham arrived back from New Zealand aboard the “Herald”, he’d been gone five months. 1

The Sydney Gazette reported: Last night arrived, the schooner Herald, Gilbert Muir, Master, from New Zealand the 28th December; lading, 4 casks of flax. Passenger, Mr. Cunningham, Botanist. 2
