London News: The British Reform Act of 1832 becomes law

Within the years Allan Cunningham resided in London, 1831-1836, many important political and philosophical changes were afoot, one being the Representation of the People Act 1832.
Around 15th March 1832, the British Parliament passed into law the “Representation of the People Act 1832” known by its short name “The Reform Act of 1832”, bringing the British system of patronage close to an end. 1
Many historians credit the Reform Act 1832 with launching modern democracy in the United Kingdom.
