Mr Cunningham returns to Parramatta from The Illawarra

20th November 1818

On this day, 20th November 1818, Allan Cunningham returns to Parramatta at the end of his journey to the Illawarra District.

Robert Heward wrote:

Mr Cunningham undertook a journey to the Illawarra, or Five Island District; a portion of Australia remarkable for the almost tropical character and luxuriance of its vegetation. 1
